Urban Sky Tram
A simple solution to a complex problem.
What is UST?
UST (Urban Sky Tram) Is an engineering project with a main objective of satisfying the transport needs of people in densely populated cities. It makes use of an elevated road, adaptable to any type of urban environment. Passangers can travel at 100 km/h, individually, in an economical, safe and eco-friendly way to their destination.
Introduction:
What sets UST apart from other similar engineering projects? The rails have no moving parts, the change of direction of the UST vehicles depends only on these and not on a change of tracks, where errors and accidents are more probably to happen.
Individuality
This system transports one person at a time, allowing a personalized and calm journey for each passenger, however, the entire system as a whole allows a large number of people travel to their destinations such as markets, universities, airports… among others.
Ecology
This transport system does not produce greenhouse gases and is completely electric. By transporting people individually, space and energy are used more efficiently. With 200 kg (440lbs) vehicle weight, each pod is able to move up to a maximum weight per person of 150kg (330lbs).
Comfort
One of the main advantages of travelling alone is that comfort is maximized. Each pod provides plenty of space, is convenient and quiet, and also has an extra compartment to store personal luggage. Through the journey, the occupant can relax and even charge their mobile devices.
Security
Each UST is equipped with a safety system to prevent any accidents. Each vehicle has emergency brakes and is securely mounted to the track. Fundamentally, being suspended reduces the possibility of collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians. This system consists of a network of computers that monitor the position of each vehicle. In addition, operator error is eliminated because the vehicle completely autonomous.
Time
Conventional public transport options usually make several stops along the way, because routes are made to serve broad areas with several points of interest. While short, personal trips would normally take excessive time due congestion, UST allows you to travel directly to your destination at 100Km/h, without unnecessary stops.
Economy
Its construction is much cheaper than any other mass transport system and it's easy to maintain. Required materials are already accessible in the current market, making UST very competitive. This cost efficiency is reflected in the price of your ticket to ride.
Prototype
Our current goal is to create a scale model to show the effectiveness of system operation. This includes demonstrating the electrical, mechanical, software and safety systems. We have a team of engineers and programmers ready to make this happen. The idea is to build a 200 Meter test track with 10 vehicles to test a range of scenarios.
UrbanSkyTram has already been accepted into the SeedBooster program of FasterCapital and seeking a capital of $500K.
Q&A
UST is a futuristic project or a today viable project?
UST is a project that chase the objective to satisfy today challenges, it needs to be test it and develop to be safe to use according to safety standards.
It could de use for other applications as tourism?
There are not other reasons why UST could not be used for other applications, however it has to be safe for the passenger and for the people around the vehicle and structure.
Can pets travel with the passenger?
At the moment we are focus only on human passengers, but that not implies that in the future it would be no possibility to travel with your pet.
